Today, I am going to introduce you guys to the 2009 WBC Limited Edition Collector's Item we had recently put up on our website.
Even though the World Baseball Classic was not that big of a deal in most countries in the world, for some reason it was huge in Japan. I thought it was crazy how Japan and Korea played each other 5 times. It wasn't much of a WORLD baseball classic...It was like Japan vs. Korea baseball classic in my opinion...haha. Anyway, Japan won it again! I thought it was cool simply because I personally got to talk a lot of trash to my baseball friends in America.
Since WBC was such a huge event in Japan, we had decided to release "2009 WBC Samurai Japan Players ZIPPO Oil Lighter". It is a silver Zippo lighter with the design of the player's jersey on one side and the official Team Japan logo on the other side. It is a collector's item so it comes with an individual certification number. The featured players are Ichiro, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Yu Darvish, and Coach Tatsunori Hara.
I know what you are thinking. You are not from Japan and you probably don't care much for baseball so why would you spend money to get that? Well, let me explain it to you. If you purchased it now, and keep it mint conditioned for let's see...20-30 years. The WBC itself could be as big and popular as the World Cup is today. If you had the collector's item from the 2nd WBC featuring the only WBC Champions thus far, that item will be pretty valuable. Not to mention anybody can use a cool looking lighter.
